A year’s steady progress and lobbying by all of us at Genetic Cures Australia has resulted in a significant Government Health Department donation through Stem Cells Australia.
The funds will allow clinical work, research and experiments on Harry’s stem cells which have already been grown into photoreceptors in Melbourne. This ‘individual medicine’ is the future of geonomics and with this donation and on-going support, we feel more than confident that we shall all attain laboratory ‘Proof of Concept’ towards a treatment for Usher syndrome type 1F within a few short years.
Harry met Health Minister Greg Hunt, his team and colleagues at Stem Cells Australia recently at The University of Melbourne. Channel Nine covered the event and gave Harry the opportunity to become a roving reporter in the best old world tradition…
